- Luxury VacationThe Best Caribbean Island?Nancy (63.176.159.115) - What is the best island to visit? I am planning a trip for December. I don't want to spend too much money, but don't want to be cheap either. I want to relaaaaaaaaaaaxxxxxxxxxxxxxx! And maybe meet some nice people too. Comment #1 Lance (63.176.159.99) - Aruba is the best by far. Comment #2 eMiLyrOsE (218.214.33.116) - hey, Comment #3 Emilio (200.7.33.210) - Well if you want the ultimate in rest and relaxation, visit Anguilla (British West Indies). http://www.anguilla-vacation.com/ Comment #4 Bill (152.163.38.51) - Another great site. I added a link to make it easy to get to. Comment #5 James (211.24.242.162) - In my view Aruba is the best I have seen. I am yet to vist there but have seen lots of article about the island. Comment #6 Jade (88.108.127.26) - I also think Aruba is the best by far! Comment #7 Nancy (152.163.39.81) - I vote for San Andres, Colombia. (Don't let the colombia part scare you). Comment #8 Lily (68.220.252.144) - I have to vote for Aruba. I loved being there. It is an amazing place and very beautiful. I haven't been to the other islands but that was enough for me. I definitely plan on going back in the near future. Comment #9 endora (24.45.126.104) - Since your traveling in December i would also choose Aruba. It is on an average 80 degrees year round. They have a really nice nightlife: casinos, clubs, shopping. The Island has a dutch influance as well. Its clean. The only draw back or what people are not expecting is the dry flat land. No lush and tropical as some of the other caribean islands. Comment #10 Lisa (152.163.38.166) - What's this the Aurba Public Relations Department? Look at a map and you'll see the vast area of Caribbean Islands... if you've been to one already, pick another one this year. Comment #11 palefrost (24.45.126.104) - The key word was December vacation travel. Aruba is always warm year round. I can see why everyone mentioned it. although Jamaica is nice and toasty to year round. Comment #12 tater03 (12.168.214.15) - Thank you for these suggestions. Looking into taking a vacation. These will definetilly help me to make a decision on where to go. Glad I ran across this site. Comment #13 endora (24.45.126.104) - Im surprised no one mentioned St Lucia. The island is so lush and tropical. Very close to Hawaii in appearance. The beaches arent white sandy but still its really exotic looking i would think it would be high on the list of must see and best caribbean choices. I mean Aruba is nice but its not as beautiful as St Lucia. Comment #14 ninikins (82.72.97.217) - St Lucia is one of the most goegeous places in the world I agree. Comment #15 tater03 from ohio - I have never been to Aruba personally. But I do have a friend that plans on getting married their. I have done alot of research on the internet just trying to find out things for her. I would have to say from what I have seen Aruba would be a great place for a vacation. It seems to have alot of nice hotel, beaches and a lot of fun things to do. I am hoping to go to Aruba next year. Cannot wait. Comment #16 ninikins (82.72.97.217) - I have heard that teh quality of the hotels and hotel staff are the best in Aruba, what more can you want I think? Kind people, a great atmosphere and the best hotels. Comment #17 sams from Travel - Please visit the Bahamas with a temparature of 60-75 deg F during the winter season and with mainly English speaking people you will enjoy your stay there. Comment #18 star123 (220.226.172.250) - I have been to the Bahamas, Aruba and St. Lucia. Of these, I would pick St. Lucia. It is absolutely beautiful. We visited there on a cruise. Aruba is very expensive and I thought the locals were not very friendly. The snorkeling is good there, though. The Bahamas just isn't what it used to be, unless you go to the Atlantis on Paradise Island (so I've heard). Comment #19 Mike (66.153.111.243) - Hi everyone; i would like to know if either of these two places (Aruba or St. Lucia) are swarmed with natives trying to sell you stuff and take you on adventures. I have heard the Bahamas is really bad with that. Can anyone help me out? Comment #20 Lee from Montevideo, Uruguay - Your best bet is San Andres, Colombia. There are very few natives trying to sell you stuff. There is plenty of stuff to buy, but no one is hounding you. Santa Marta, Colombia isn't bad either, but its not an Island. Comment #21 jason (64.200.6.42) - I was wondering where the best remote island vacation spots are. I wanna be able to sit on the beach without thousands of people, I love peace and quite!!! Being able to sit in a lawn chair on the beach with a book in one hand ond a margarita in the other with NO people around is my dream vacation!!! Any suggestions???? Staying in a villa would be nice. Comment #22 Lee from Montevideo, Uruguay - I just answered you in #20... there also some beaches that take a 3 hour walk in the woods to get to near Santa Marta... some of 2 of those were pretty much void of people. Comment #23 Lee from Montevideo, Uruguay - Comment #24 Lee from Montevideo, Uruguay - Comment #25 maria martinez (67.150.33.48) - St John in the USVI, it is real paradise, if you like natural, untouched beauty of the Caribbean, this island is 3/4 a natural reserved area, meaning no stores, no restaurants, no garbage, etc. This is the place to stay, explored and relax. There is only one hotel, I rented a house, everyplace in the island has breath taken views, mountains, bays, beaches. It is small and very secluded. I got married there in a sunset a year ago at the end of November (weather was fantastic, I never turned the A/C on, but it was warm enough in the day to go swiming all day. I had a dream wedding there, alone with my family. I stayed 8 days and did not spend more than $8 grant, including house, wedding, food, boat trips, rental cars ( for two islands) airfare, wedding cake, wedding minister, pictures ( for 5 of us)Affortable, and it is an incredible place. You will have to land in ST Thomas, buy all your groceries there, rent a car and take it on the barge ( ferry for cars) over St John. Rent a house on a hill looking down at the ocean, and just relax, go hiking, snorkling, just swiming on the beaches. The ocean has all the blue shades you can imagine in there. Villas come in all sizes, prices, they have all you may need, you could even rent a chef. Or just go camping in the beach. I rented a villa with a hot tub, and 2 houses in one ( master suite and main house)I went island hoping to the British Virgin islands (Tortola, Virgen Gorda, Josh Van Dike, and other little ones around) on a private rented boat( with a captain) and went to Tortola in a ferry. I have been there twice and I will go back any time I have the chance. Comment #26 Spudgee from Digital Arena - I'd vote for Aruba too! Comment #27 Misty from my empty head - I here in Aruba you can drink the water, and it is not as expensive as Mexico. Is this true? Comment #28 John Jack from Carvahall - Either Aruba or Cayman Islands! or maybe Jamaica. Amazing beaches + great night life + delicious food + friendly people = perfect! Comment #29 Copeland from South of No Where - So you guys say that Aruba is the best island. I had a friend that had a second ceremony in Aruba and they shared really beautiful pictures of the island. Also, I had a friend to recommend Bermuda. Comment #30 Douglas Weller from Margarita island - I have lived on the island of Margarita for the last 34 years and love it! Take a look at the links on my website. Comment #31 Wilbur Corncob from San Andres, Colombia - I think you missed the url... you might add it to your profile and post another reply with the web link and title in the boxes here. We'd all love to see your website.
