We took a cruise for our honeymoon. It wasn't to the Caribbean, and now I want to cruise to the Caribbean so bad. Galveston is now our closest port and our anniversary is during hurricane season so we'll need to cruise during a different time of year. And it looks like the best Caribbean cruise sail from Florida.

There are some great cruises out of New York as well and not just carribean ones. I am in Texas and Galveston doesn't offer anything worth taking if you ask me. My suggestion would be to fly to another U.S. city without hesitation.

Where in Texas? And you know, I've noticed the same thing about the cruises out of Galveston, but I kept hoping I just wasn't looking right. My parents fly to Florida and cruise from there, but I don't like their cruises. LOL! I thought about cruising Alaska for the beauty, but I really hate the cold. I much prefer somewhere in the Caribbean where it's warm.

I think you best best would be to fly to Florida, I'm sure the air fare would be lots cheaper then flying to New York. You could go to Port Canaveral and I believe there is a port in Miami as well. Not quite sure about that one.
