Pros and Cons about Cruises?

4Cruises.com

char from denver -

I'm wondering what the pros and cons are about cruises? Has anybodu taken a lot of cruises and have any input? I would think one pro is a lot of people to socialize and a generally non-crime setting [one could only hope!]. Cons could be sea-sickness [lol] and being stuck on a ship for too much time!

You also may get to visit many different places, although for just a short time.

For example, on the Caribbean Island of San Andres (Colombia) you almost never find Americans. Some cruise ships stop and it is one of the few opportunies for Americans to visit.

The Island is worth the effort to visit for longer than the cruise ships allow... and it is very safe.

That's true, cruises do give you the opporunity to see lots of spots and it is generally stress-free as opposed to driving from spot to spot which can really drive certain people crazy! Heh. San Andres sounds intreesting, I'll have to do some research :)

Char, don't for a minute think a cruise is crime free. You have to be just as vigilant of yourself and your possessions on board the ship just as you would anywhere else.

My pro of going on a cruise is that you get to do everything you could possibly want to do in one spot. Plus I love dressing up nice for dinner. I don't get to very much where I live. My con would be all of the weight I gain eating all of the vacation.

The only Con I can think of is the short port stays. You really need to do your research when taking a cruise on ports of calls. Some cruise lines stay longer at ports than others, so it depends on which places you would like to stay longer at and which ones you don't.
